The
Salon Orchestra includes strings and piano and has a minimum of four
players. This repertoire is more in the Continental style and features
arrangements from the 1920s and 1930s. The sound is intimate and rich and
the playing is always stylish and of the highest quality. Repertoire
includes Emmerich Kalman, Franz Lehar, Eric Coates and much more.
The Tango
Orchestra, Tango Classico as it is named, has all the hallmarks of the
Salon Orchestra with the addition of Piano Accordion or Bandoneon. This
stylish Orchestra plays evocative arrangements of sultry tango's as well
as featuring light, dizzy classics from the 1950s such as "High
Heels" and those delicious 'modern' arrangements of Fred Hartley.
The
String Quartet has had a resurgence of popularity in recent years and the
Palm Court Orchestra can provide such an ensemble of exceptional polish.
Our repertoire is large and varied, from the classics of Mozart, Bach,
Purcell and Dvorak to the magic of Strauss and the romance of Cole Porter
and George Gershwin. |
